About Dr Rebecca J Wilson, LMSW, PSC Founder/Principal

Dr Wilson wants to empower others to discover their best solutions and maximize their strengths. Perhaps this is why she has spent most of her career straddling education and community. Dr Wilson believes it takes a community to improve the community.

Currently, Dr Wilson is the Executive Director for Access and Opportunity for a public school system. She held previous roles as a coordinator for college & career readiness, school counselor, research associate, data monitoring associate, and social worker. Through her work, Dr Wilson has implemented effective solutions to bring communities and schools together on behalf of youth and families. She understands the strength of collaboration, equity, and the synergy necessary to improve outcomes for all.

Dr Wilson was a part-time instructor with the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service and the Southern Connecticut State University Graduate School of Education. Dr Wilson currently instructs with the Connecticut State Community College - Norwalk and is frequently asked to be a guest lecturer at other higher education institutions.

Dr Wilson earned a doctorate in Education for Counselor Education & Supervision from Southern CT State University. Dr Wilson’s doctoral research publication was titled Understanding the barriers to achieving career goals that persist for mentored college graduates from underserved backgrounds.
